A Victorian silver travelling communion set

by Blunt Wray & Co, London 1888, comprising chalice, paten and glass flagon - probably a replacement - with silver collar and overstamped maker's mark, presented in a pocket travelling case lined in purple velvet, fitted with an oval cartouche filled with presentation engraving, 3.7ozt gross weighable

Condition Report
Case: opens and closes well though both hinges are loose. The catch is tight and snaps shut easily. The outside shows typical wear and tear commensurate with its age, with scuffs and scrathces and two minor splits around the hinges, together with a split to the cover. The interior lining is worn and rubbed.

Paten: Minor scuffs and scratches as to be expected, and a minor pit mark to the reverse. Very slightly out of shape, but generally in good condition.

Chalice: The base is slightly out of shape with the result it rocks on a flat surface. Minor scuffs and scratches as to be expected. Gilded interior a bit faded, but otherwise in good condition.

Flagon: Generally in good condition. A very minor nick to the glass on the rim, covered from view by the silver collar. The cork in the stopper is worn and needs replacing as it does not form a seal with inserted
