Frequently Asked Questions

There are several ways that you can join us for an upcoming auction as a buyer. You can join us in person at our Cambridge auction house on the day of the auction, and you’ll just need to register with our reception upon your arrival. Please bring photographic ID when registering.

If you’d prefer to bid online, please register with the respective auction ahead of time to set up your account. Or you can book a telephone line with our auction team, who can bid on your behalf. This option requires at least 24 hours’ notice, so please plan ahead.

Many of our buyers also choose to leave absentee bids with our team if they’re unable to attend in person. If you’d like to go down this route, please speak to our experts ahead of an upcoming auction.

If there’s an upcoming sale on our art auction calendar that you’d like to enter a lot into, the process is very straightforward. First, we ask that you reach out to our team who will organise an appraisal of your items. We’ll then work with you to arrange delivery of your items to our auction house, and we will then keep you updated on the progress of your sale. If your items are sold, you’ll receive the net sum due to you via bank transfer.

We carry out a curated marketing campaign for all of our auctions, which includes both digital and print catalogues, print advertising, client previews, and themed sales that group similar items. To keep the auction process accessible, detailed auction guides are provided to make sure everybody interested can take part.
