La Table appears to be an early work by the artist, during his tenure in the Forces Nouvelles - a group which aimed to eschew the avant-garde and return to traditional forms of craftmanship. Venard would later aggressively renounce this movement, instead employing thick impasto, varying textures, bold colour palettes, and angular forms to characterise his work.

Woudl benefit from a light clean. Faint crazing and cracking to the paint and small losses to the paint, especially towards the upper section.
