Cherry Creek, vol. 1, no. 1 printed on brown paper, for April 23, 1859, folded broadsheet with damage to folds and intersections.
According to a small note dated June '55, the Rocky Mountain News was the first newspaper in what is now Colorado. Wiliam N. Byers was the owner and printer. The News continued on a weekly basis until summer of 1860 when it also started daily publication.

Provenance: Francis Edwards, London. Presumably acquired for £140 in 1955 according to the above mentioned typed note.
