Condition Report
The bracelet has evidently been worn so there are some dents to the metal charms and wear and tear commensurate with age and use. The loveliest, and probably oldest, charms are the three hearts. The red and white enamel and seed pearl heart is late 19th century, and in reasonable condition for age - it has a shallow chip to the red enamel near the central seed pearl, and a repair to one of the seed pearl posts which now appears to prevent the inner compartment from being opened, and the fitting on the back may not be original. The pensée heart also has losses to the enamel and the back is dented. The plaited hair inside, light brown, together with the pansy (pensée is French for both pansy and thought) suggests this is a token of love or friendship rather than mourning, and possibly early to mid 19th century. The little bicolour heart, rose and yellow gold, is also 19th century, and in good condition.
