circa 1871, the unsigned cream-coloured dial, 45mm diameter, with black Roman numerals, copper coloured fleur-de-lys hands, subsidiary seconds register at 6 o'clock and chemin de fer chapter ring, front loading gilt full plate key wind movement signed JOAH TYAS SCISSETT HUDDERSFIELD 13692, with engraved winged balance cock, chain fusée, 3 arm balance and 4 pinned cotton reel pillars under a brass dust cover, case, 51mm diameter, milled edge, verso hinged at 6 o'clock with engine turned engraving around a central vacant escutcheon shaped cartouche, interior numbered 13692 with casemaker's mark of Robert Over and Chester hallmarks for Sterling silver, 131.9g gross, presented with the winding key; the chain of uniform oval belcher style links, 6mm wide, each stamped with silver standard mark, terminating in a swivel catch and T bar, both with mark of E. Whitehouse & Son, Birmingham 1899, overall length 28cm, short length of chain 10cm from the swivel catch end supporting an escutcheon shaped medal, mark of William Adams Ltd., Birmingham 1903, 48.8g
