Condition Report
Timber is somewhat bleached and dry, joints opening very slightly, adapted to corner to support eagle, opening is app. 43cm wide at its narrowest point. Right-hand face (when viewed from the front) is heavily adzed and chipped along top edge, presumably from a previous fitting. Overall solid, but somewhat tired. Eagle could be easily removed along with bracket, leaving just an semi-circular indent. Some tarnishing to brass ball in eagle's claws.
