Oil on canvas which has been lined. The canvas tension is stiff and the picture is in plane. The paint layer is in a good, stable condition. There are localised areas of overpaint which appear very matte. The varnish is thick, glossy and has yellowed with age. There are brown accretions across the surface and scuffs and scratches.
