Featuring either a production background or a production overlay alongside a non-production background, the present lots were created by the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, for the making of their 1994 animation, The Lion King. Starring Matthew Broderick, Rowan Atkinson, Jeremy Irons, and with a soundtrack written by Elton John, The Lion King was amongst Disney’s highest grossing films and spurred two animated sequels, a long running stage production, and more recently, in 2019, a live action remake.
