Condition Report

Oil on canvas which is attached to a wooden stretcher. On the reverse of the canvas is an artists' supplier stamp for Winsor and Newton. The canvas tension is slack which has caused stretcher bar marks where the canvas is in contact with the wooden frame behind. In areas this has led to losses in the paint layer. There are scattered losses to the painting, mainly along the lower edge but also in areas where the surface has been scratched or abraded. Where the painting is undamaged it appears to be in a stable condition with no inherent flaking. The painting is housed in a simple wooden frame with a few dents to the surface.
