Sold for £480
Condition Report
PLEASE NOTE - THIS AUCTION BEGINS AT 10AM.
The rose cut diamonds are assorted in size and shape and rather roughly cut - not unusual for period pieces, some are chipped, as is the cabochon eye; the tip of one tail fork is missing; there is visible solder at the base of the beak; the bar is slightly bent and the pin is curved. In summary the piece is in reasonable condition for age, but the drawbacks are outweighed by its charm and rarity. The colour of the metal suggests 9 or 15ct gold, but it acid tests for 18ct - back of wing, pin and bar. Gross weight 4.85g
