18th century embroidered sash badge and tassel from the Order of Oddfellows. Evolving from the medieval Trade Guilds, the Oddfellows was a friendly society that began in London in the late 17th century, with other guilds later establishing themselves around the country. The emblem of the Oddfellows included a beehive, lamb and flag, globe, hourglass and crossed keys 9cm diam, 17cms length with tassel; Together with a geometric needlework bell pull from Clermont Hall Norfolk; A shell and coral embroidered bellpull with regency repousse brass ends, (with another similar, much reduced). Crewelwork border stitched on teal blue velvet ground and quantity of fan edging (qty)
