May, London - An 18th century Sterling silver pair cased pocket watch

circa 1797, the outer case, 50mm diameter, apparently unmarked, upper bezel with decorative engraved symmetrical designs, verso decorated with a repoussé pastoral scene within a scroll edged border depicting a gentleman and lady, hand in hand, the cover activated by push button at 3 o'clock, open faced pocket watch, the unsigned white dial with painted border featuring a sailor and his sweetheart with a sailing ship in the distance, 43mm diameter, gold coloured spade and whip hands, black Roman numerals and scalloped chemin de fer chapter ring with outer Arabic minute indicators under a convex bullseye crystal, front loading gilt full plate movement signed MAY LONDON, 243, with pierced and engraved bridged balance cock, verge escapement with chain fusée and 4 pinned square baluster pillars, case, 43mm diameter, stirrup shaped pendant bow, verso plain and polished with winding aperture, inner with casemaker's mark of Joseph Glenny and London hallmarks for Sterling silver, 100.3g gross and presented with the winding key
