Condition Report

Both stones are a little loose in their settings although all the claws are adequate. (It would be a very straightforward job to tighten the settings.) The settings themselves are in good order but there is a very small nick out of the underside of one of the finger bezels. The shank is slim - 1.6mm at the shoulder tapering to 1.1mm - and there are signs that it has been sized in a number of places. The ring is unhallmarked.

Stone 1 - There is a needle - like inclusion just under the table which just breaks the surface. There is also a chip to the girdle resulting in a surface reaching fracture travelling through the upper girdle and bezel facet as well as the lower girdle facet below. Subject to the limitations of the setting there does not appear to be any further damage.

Stone 2 - There is a tiny chip to one of the upper girdle facets but subject to the limitation of the setting there does not appear to be any further damage.*

The stones are well matched, both spreading 8.3mm and are both bright and lively. With the exception of the needle-like inclusion previously mentioned, all other inclusions are at the edges of the stones, and indeed were probably originally hidden by the claws.

*opposite this tiny chip - sometimes hidden by a claw as the stone is loose - is a small surface-rising fracture, looking like a small pear-shape cloud; there is also a small sparse cloud of tiny black specks to one side under the table.
