A rare and unusual George III silver novelty vinaigrette by Samuel Pemberton

Birmingham 1804, in the form of a round and convex sided locket or watch case, the borders of both sides with bright cut rope twist decoration, side hinge and gilt wash interior, the hinged and gilded grille with ornate pierced and filigree floral decoration, simple hinged stirrup bale, 35mm in diameter, 0.5ozt

Condition Report

Overall in good condition with no obvious sign of damage or repair.

Outer: Some light surface scratching as to be expected. Hinge a little loose but cover opens and closes as it should. Hallmarks a little worn, as is the interior gilding.

Inner grille: Piercing intact and undamaged. Hinge very slightly strained resulting in the grille not sitting absolutely flush when closed, but this does not affect the closing of the outer cover,
