Provenance: Possibly acquired from the artist (label on the reverse possibly with his signature and address 26 Newman Street, London); Also on the reverse a label of Thomas Agnew & Sons, no. 4546; Thomas Damant Eaton (1800-1871) of Eaton Hall, Norwich, and by descent

Condition Report
Oil on panel. The paint layer is stable. Retouchings in the sky have lightened and become obvious. There is a large area of retouching around the sheep at the bottom of the picture, areas of which have become glossy. The varnish is even and matte. The frame is in a good condition.
