Condition Report
Oil on panel with a wooden cradle attached to the reverse at a later date. All of the cradle members have been glued onto the panel. The panel has a horizontal split running the width of the painting which is in line with the edge of one of the cradle members. The paint along the split is cracked and raised with a few scattered losses. There are localised blisters of paint in the sky. The varnish layer is very thick and discoloured. There appears to be areas of overpaint beneath the varnish but the extent of this is difficult to determine due to the varnish. The frame is in a good condition with some wear to the gilding.
