A pair of Chinese carved abalone shells on stands, 19th century

each decorated with fanciful birds and beasts in a garden with a pagoda in the distance, on wooden stands carved with prunus, 33cm high (including stand) (4)

Condition Report

One shell with chip to the bottom, the back with surface slithers which have been glued. The top of the other one has rim chips and it is cracked to back, probably more a natural fault to the material.
