In 2017, Staffordshire based sculptors Michael James Talbot (1963-) and Carl Payne (1969-2021) collaborated to create a bronzed resin public sculpture of Stoke-on-Trent's most famous literary son, Arnold Bennett (1867-1931). Both Talbot and Payne received their sculptural training at The Sir Henry Doulton Sculpture School.
Neil Welch (1972-) is a similarly Staffordshire-based sculptor. Beyond being connected by physical geography, each of these sculptors has received international acclaim for their lyrical figural works in bronze and their expressive use of patination.
Condition Report
